Don’t count on it. Why? Because most shelters don’t have universal scanners, and many small facilities or pounds don’t bother. Even if they do, it often means finding a vet and paying upfront fees.

Most smartphones today support NFC by default- as it’s the same tech behind tap-to-pay and digital wallets like Apple Pay™ and Google Pay™. That’s why every tag includes a clearly engraved NFC symbol and directions right HD laser engraved on the back of each tag.

In the rare event someone has a phone that doesn’t support NFC- we have you covered! They will see your pet’s name, phone number, and address laser-engraved directly on the tag.

Is it safe for my dog to wear an NFC tag?

Yes. NFC tags are passive—there’s no battery, no signal, and nothing emitting from the tag. It only responds when a phone taps it, just like your tap-to-pay credit card. It’s as safe as any standard ID tag, just a lot smarter.
