Shiloh’s Story

Shiloh’s House was born from love, resilience, and the story of a little dog who changed everything.

Shiloh came into our lives as a rescue from the tough streets of Los Angeles, a small 18-pound Cavachon who had faced more challenges than his cheerful demeanor suggested. Shortly after he became a cherished member of our family, at the tender age of six, Shiloh was diagnosed with end-stage heart failure, and the vet cautioned us that his remaining time was likely days, maybe months.

The diagnosis came during one of the most challenging times in my own life. After a career-ending cycling accident my world felt impossibly dark and isolating, and Shiloh’s unwavering love and comforting presence had become my lifeline.

But Shiloh wasn’t ready to give up. Against all odds—and to the vet’s amazement—he lived for six more wonderful years. During this time, Shiloh wasn’t just living his best life; he was helping me rebuild mine.

As my life began to flourish, Shiloh was right there by my side. I built a promising career, met the love of my life, and welcomed two new furry family members. Shiloh took pride in raising these pups as if they were his own, passing on his charm, his love for his favorite yellow plush duck, and the duty of barking at any “threat” that approached our home—especially butterflies, birds, and delivery people.

Shiloh’s love kept his heart beating until he knew mine was whole. When he passed, it was in the very home he helped me build—a place shaped by love, hope, and quiet resilience. It was from this home that Shiloh’s House was born, and it’s where it still lives today.

At Shiloh’s House, we are committed to keeping pets and their families connected and protected, ensuring they’re never separated too soon. Shiloh’s memory lives on in every tag we create, reminding us that the love of a pet doesn’t just change your life—it can save it.
